Over the years, the early blanket weaving enterprise has grown into a uniquely American heritage of extraordinary quality, fine craftsmanship, and classic, enduring style.
To help celebrate this deep-rooted Oregon company, the World Forestry Center Discovery Museum will be hosting an extraordinary exhibit from May 15 through August 15, 2010 called Pendleton: Weaving America’s Spirit. Its rich Oregon history and quality product have made Pendleton Woolen Mills a household name. Still privately owned by the founder’s great-grandsons, Pendleton is now sold around the world.
The well-rounded exhibit includes:
- An impressive wall of Pendleton blankets including a display of America's favorite National Park Blankets;
- A graphic timeline collage featuring archival photography and products;
- Actual examples of different types of wool with tactile features that demonstrate the process "from fleece to fashion."
