Perfect for a day in the woods!

 

Land for this unique educational project was donated to the non-profit World Forestry Center in 1977 by generous local residents Howard and Panzy Magness. Additional lands have been donated by the Robert Heater Family.

Located approximately 4 miles south of Old Town Sherwood and 10 minutes west of 1-5 Wilsonville exit 283, Magness Memorial Tree Farm is now an internationally recognized demonstration forest and outdoor education site enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year.

This beautiful 80 acre property has a large natural area, small stream, nine comparative forest management zones, 2.5 miles of hiking trails, recreation field, small picnic shelter, and rustic log cabins for youth group overnight camping, outdoor schools, and retreats.

Hours and fees

Magness is free and open to the public daily. Fees are charged for education classes and rental of facilities. Open 9:00 to 5:00 daily. 9:00 - 7:00 Memorial Day - Labor Day
Parking is VERY limited. Please carpool whenever possible.

Directions

Take I-5 to exit 283. Turn west on Wilsonville Rd. Drive four miles to Edminston Rd. Turn right on Edminston Rd and travel 1.3 miles to SW Ladd Hill Rd. The tree farm is 1/2 mile down the road on your left. Parking is VERY limited. Please carpool whenever possible.
