2026 Venue Grant

World Forestry Center’s Equity and Access Community Grant Program will award two grants in 2026, each for a complimentary event venue rental in Miller Hall, Cheatham Hall, Mt. Hood Room, or our Cheatham Hall/Plaza combination (up to a $4,750 value). Grant applications will be accepted from January 15 – March 15, 2026 for events held in 2026 or 2027. Winners will be announced April 3, 2026. Though previous renters of our venues will not be disqualified, preference will be given to organizations who have not held events before on our campus.

  • a. How does the event promote diversity, inclusiveness, and improve equity? b. What is the event’s purpose? c. Who is your target audience? d. How many people do you anticipate attending? e. What is your food, beverage and entertainment plan? f. What is your marketing plan, and benchmarks for success?
  • Please note this is not a requirement for grant approval.
  • Community Grant recipients are required to contract with one of our Approved Caterers for their event or partake in our catering buy-out option with a fully licensed, full service caterer. No self-catering is allowed. Is this agreeable to you?
  • Once approved and event has occurred, grant recipient will send to World Forestry Center a recap of the event within 30 days. Please address how many people attended, if financial goals were met (if it was a fundraiser), lessons learned, challenges, and plans on repeating the event in future years.

A Community Grant covers the rental fee at World Forestry Center. It does not cover refundable damage deposits or after-hours security fees. Upon being awarded a grant, awardees are responsible for submitting a $500 good faith deposit within 15 business days of award that will be retained if event is canceled within 60 days of event date. The deposit will be refunded after the event. Awardees are responsible for all insurance requirements and catering fees.
