Investing in a sustainable future.

For 22 years, World Forestry Center has convened investors, land managers, advisors, carbon project developers, and others in the forestland investment space for a 2.5 day conference in Portland, Oregon. CANOPY: Forests + Markets + Society, is the premier annual event on institutional forestland investing.

SAVE THE DATE: Join us September 16-18, 2025 for our next CANOPY: Forests + Markets + Society conference at World Forestry Center.

A DIVERSIFYING INVESTOR LANDSCAPE

Growing awareness of climate change is generating a new wave of interest in forests beyond the traditional focus on timber assets. While timber remains a fundamental driver in many forest portfolios, some investors are entering this asset class to meet net zero, climate resiliency, conservation, or biodiversity goals.

JOIN THE CONVERSATION

We invite you to join us in this continuing—always exciting and evolving—conversation on institutional investing in forests.

Participants include forestland owners, climate and timber asset managers, institutional investors, forestry executives, wood manufacturers, sustainable biofuels producers, conservation groups, legal advisors, technology companies, and others interested in impact investing and nature-based solutions to pressing environmental challenges.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

This conference attracts over 400 professionals, nationally and internationally. The conference will open with an evening reception on September 16, sessions and evening reception on September 17, and final sessions on September 18.

The event offers ample networking and learning opportunities, including continuing education credits for appraisers, attorneys, foresters, and CPAs.

The Forest Products Forum, which runs just prior to the conference on September 16, features expert presentations from Forest Economic Advisors and guest speakers on wood markets.
