[Sherwood, OR] World Forestry Center is announcing specific dates for public access to Magness Memorial Tree Farm as the first and third Mondays of each month this winter, November through January.
World Forestry Center has owned and operated the 77-acre forest in Sherwood, OR, since 1977. Donated by Howard and Panzy Magness, the tree farm was initially developed as a demonstration site for woodland owners to showcase forest management and silviculture.
The site contains 2.5 miles of hiking trails, sheltered picnic areas, meadows, streams, and forests.
“We are limiting the number of dates Magness Memorial Tree Farm is open each month, out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our visitors,” said Allison Gannett, Director of Communications for World Forestry Center. “We will be dedicating our limited on-site staff capacity to keeping the trails and buildings safe for those visitors who come to enjoy the majesty of Magness.”
Visitors can visit Magness Memorial Tree Farm on the following upcoming dates:
- November 4
- November 18
- December 2
- December 16
