Magness Memorial Tree Farm Temporarily Closed Due to Staffing Constraints

Sherwood, OR – World Forestry Center announces the temporary closure of Magness Memorial Tree Farm, located at 31195 SW Ladd Hill Road in Sherwood, Oregon, effective immediately due to staffing constraints.
Magness Memorial Tree Farm, a 77-acre forest originally developed as a demonstration site for woodland owners to showcase forest management and silviculture, has been a cherished community asset since it was donated by Howard and Panzy Magness in 1977. The site features 2.5 miles of hiking trails, sheltered picnic areas, meadows, streams, and forests.
“We understand the importance of Magness Memorial Tree Farm to our community and visitors,” said Alli Gannett, Communications Director at World Forestry Center. “This temporary closure is necessary to ensure the safety and quality of the visitor experience. We’ll be sure to let the public know as soon as Magness is ready to reopen.”
World Forestry Center is working to address current staffing needs and will share updates as they become available.
We appreciate the community’s understanding during this time.
