A Story of Growth: Pre-Order

A limited-edition Pendleton blanket created for World Forestry Center’s 60th anniversary—celebrating forests as living systems of resilience, connection, and renewal.

Wrap Yourself in the Story of Forests

A limited-edition World Forestry Center “A Story of Growth” 60th Anniversary blanket created in partnership with Pendleton Woolen Mills to celebrate forests, community, and connection.

The design is rooted in the image of tree rings and the stories they tell, each one marking time, growth, and change. Reflecting the beauty, resilience, and importance of forests, it carries forward a shared story of place and purpose.

Every thread connects you to something bigger: landscapes that sustain us, communities that depend on them, and a shared responsibility to care for them.

About the Artist

Genevieve Fu is a Portland-based architect and designer whose work explores the relationship between nature, material, and human experience. Born in Washington, DC, and trained at the Yale School of Architecture after an early career in economics, she has worked internationally before establishing her practice in Portland.

Her connection to forests is deeply personal—she co-founded the 22nd Wildwood inclusive scouting group, which has engaged nearly 200 youth and families in outdoor education and stewardship. An avid hiker and trail runner, her work reflects a belief that forests and wood are essential to sustainable design and human shelter.

Creating Champions for the Future

At the heart of World Forestry Center is a simple but powerful mission: to create and inspire champions of sustainable forestry. Our 60th anniversary is an opportunity to strengthen that mission—by engaging new audiences, amplifying diverse voices, and inviting more people into meaningful relationship with forests.

The work we do this year lays the foundation for greater impact in the decades ahead.
